Signs of a summer recovery for theme parks and attractions

Parks are opening as COVID restrictions are easing at different rates around the world.

In the US, Disneyland has reopened, and began welcoming visitors again in California after being closed for more than 12 months. Capacity will be limited and only California residents will be allowed (until 15 June when all guests are welcome), but the news is being celebrated throughout the industry. Masks and social distancing are still required, and fans will not yet be able to enjoy parades or fireworks.

In the UK theme parks opened on 12 April, and indoor attractions including the London Eye and Madame Tussauds London opened on 17 May, along with museums and art galleries.

The Efteling is has reopened as of 19 May, and Liseberg in Sweden have announced a 3 June opening. The Efteling has been closed in the Netherlands since 30 December 2020, the third pandemic closure. Liseberg has been closed throughout the pandemic since May 2020.
